SLIM-CAPS

By using slim caps, we save up to 30% plastic, depending on the cap size. The caps are much narrower than conventional caps, which saves us plastic. We use slim caps for all of our sun creams. The slim caps are also made of the same material as the tube and are so-called mono tubes - and are therefore "ready for recycling".

100% MONO-TUBE

At Sherpa Tensing we use mono tubes. These are 100% recyclable. This means that the tube can be recycled including the cap. This saves resources.

What are mono tubes?

The mono-tube is made of pure polypropylene, from the laminate to the shoulder and flip-top closure to the decoseam strap, and has been certified as recyclable by the cyclos-HTP institute.

In addition, material is saved thanks to the reduced laminate thickness, which also makes it easier to empty the tube (it can be squeezed out more easily or rolled up to the cap).

Our goal:

We want to reduce the weight of the tubes and the size of the cap in order to save even more plastic. With the new Slim Caps we have achieved this goal.

 

 

 

100% PIR material for bottles and spray bottles

Our bottles and spray bottles (except for the caps) are made from post-industrial recycled material. This does not (yet) apply to the caps.

Where does the post-industrial material come from?

According to ISO 15270, recyclate is defined as “plastic material from the recycling of plastic waste”.

If the waste comes from production residues in the manufacture of plastic packaging or other plastic products that were not reused in the same process, the recyclates are referred to as post-industrial recyclates.

Our supplier uses plastic waste from the processing of new plastic. Instead of disposing of waste, it is ground up and used to make our bottles.

In the future, we also want to produce the closures from PIR, so that the bottles including the closure have the same base.
